ThedaCare, a non-profit health system in Northeast Wisconsin, is seeking a BE/BC Sports Medicine Physician to join a reputable group and a thriving practice within ThedaCare Orthopedics. This opportunity is 100% sports medicine.
This position will provide office based non-surgical musculoskeletal care. The physician will be based in Appleton, and there will also be shared outreach to our rural clinics, with providers serving one day a week in an outlying community. The ideal candidate will have an interest in providing ultrasound guided injections.
In addition to clinic, ThedaCare’s Sports Medicine physicians share coverage for high school sports sideline coverage and training rooms, as well as local events, such as the Fox Cities Marathon and USA Soccer tournaments.
ThedaCare has developed a three-tier system to provide comprehensive, coordinated care for patients with musculoskeletal complaints/diagnosis. Tier 1 includes primary care providers, emergency room physicians and athletic trainers. Tier II will include Family Practice/Sports Medicine physicians, Physiatrists, Rheumatology and all rehabilitation therapies. Tier III incorporates Orthopedic Surgeons. This three-tier system ensures seamless care for all patients, and is located on the campus of Appleton Medical Center.
The referral base is comprised of 200+ primary care providers, as well as several athletic trainers that cover local universities and high schools.
