Jefferson has a rich history of excellence in Sports Medicine. The Department of Family and Community Medicine has hosted an ACGME-accredited fellowship in sports medicine since 1996, the first program in the Philadelphia region. Our graduates have gone on to start and fill leadership roles in many fellowships in the region and nation. Our graduates are integral team members in the care of high level collegiate and professional athletes across the country. In addition to our remarkable history, the Division of Sports and Exercise Medicine (DS&EM) offers highly sought-after medical student and residency electives.
