The Primary Care Sports Medicine Service at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York seeks to add a physician at the assistant or associate level to anchor our clinical program at our expanding and well-established facility in Uniondale, NY. The office serves a large, active population, and a multitude of youth sports programs. This growing practice has recently increased capacity for on-site, state-of-the-art physical therapy, radiology and physician offices. This position is ideal for sports medicine physicians with an interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound. Sports Medicine at HSS Uniondale houses an array of musculoskeletal services including: •Full spectrum sports medicine subspecialty care. •High-end physical therapy, including a state-of-the art therapy facility. •Innovative sports performance programming harnessing digital and video technologies. •Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. •On site MRI. •Well-staffed and supported individual physician office practices. Responsibilities: •Provide comprehensive sports medicine care to adults and children. •Participate in the educational and academic activities of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Service. •Participate in community outreach, injury prevention and return to sports programs. •Participate in team and sport event coverage opportunities. •Collaboration in research is encouraged, but not required.
Primary Care Sports Medicine Overview The HSS Primary Care Sports Medicine Service is dedicated to treating injuries in athletes and active individuals of all levels, from recreational to elite. The faculty of the Service include nationally recognized leaders in clinical care and research. The program’s physicians have worked with professional, Olympic and collegiate athletes including 7 New York area professional sports teams, as well as other national organizations such as the New York Road Runners. HSS is also designated as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence. HSS and the Primary Care Sports Medicine service offer the latest innovations in clinical care, performance, imaging and rehabilitation. Additionally and importantly, each physician’s clinical practice has its own support team to assist in patient care.
HSS Long Island Location This suburban location in Long Island is an active community and provides convenient access to the Hamptons beach communities as well as all of the offerings of New York City. The newly renovated facility is in the heart of Nassau County near parks, shopping and excellent schools.

Minimum Qualifications: • MD required • Current Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics combined, or Emergency Medicine • Current CAQ in Sports Medicine, or CAQ eligible if completing fellowship training • Team physician experience preferred
