The University of Tennessee Department of Family Medicine in Knoxville, TN has an open full-time faculty position in Primary Care Sports Medicine. Responsibilities include teaching, resident supervision, and patient care across our family medicine clinic, student health clinic, and local sports team coverage. Inpatient teaching is optional. This position participates in the supervision of residents/fellow in the ambulatory setting, team event coverage, prepares/presents lectures, and assists in resident research.

About University of Tennessee Department of Family Medicine
Our Family Medicine Residency Program began in 1970, becoming the 49th program in the United States. Today, this program is a 3-year residency, 9x9x9 program offering the benefits and resources of an academic medical center in a community hospital setting. The Department of Family Medicine is housed within the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine and is located on the campus of The University of Tennessee Medical Center (UTMC), the region’s only academic medical center, Magnet recognized hospital, and Level I Trauma Center.
The University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine (UTGSM), Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship is a 1-year ACGME accredited program sponsored by the Department of Family Medicine. The fellowship is designed to provide comprehensive sports medicine training in musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal disease in active individuals. We provide coverage for professional, collegiate, and high school athletes as well as the typical "weekend warrior." The fellow will have ample opportunities to work with athletes from the point of injury through the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation process.
