The successful candidate must be an MD or DO board eligible/certified physiatrist with strong clinical and interpersonal skills, a commitment to academic physiatry, including resident and medical student teaching, and scholarship. The ideal candidate will have earned or be eligible for a CAQ in Sports Medicine as well as expertise in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound for both procedures and diagnostics.
The clinical focus of this position will be the evaluation and management of competitive and recreational athletes of all levels and ages. There are opportunities to participate in the care of members of Team USA, both able-bodied and para-athletes. Coverage opportunities also include local high school sports, mass running events, and the potential for national/international coverage for Team USA and/or affiliated teams. Further, opportunities for scholarly and research activity of exercise and sports medicine related subject areas are provided through the UF Health Sports Performance Center.
